Organizations with infrastructures at operational risk should adopt minimum measures or controls over security instrumented systems that allow them to defend against cybersecurity attacks.

This document, developed within the “EPC Engineering / Design” knowledge team, describes the process and systems necessary to protect plants from dangerous situations that could affect people, the environment or the facilities, known as SIS (Instrumented Security Systems). Once the operational safety systems have been presented, some of the technological risks that they could suffer are exposed, where certain failures or intentional alterations could generate very serious physical consequences, and that is why cybersecurity measures such as those presented in this document.
